Abstract

In the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces, smoking cessation treatments have been carried out for several years, which began in the polyclinic sector, first in pneumology and then in cardiology. In order to optimize the operation of these two health care areas, since last year the smoking cessation treatments have been integrated into a Tobacco Control Program which includes, among other aspects, the inclusion of more professionals trained in smoking cessation, in-hospital recruitment of smoking patients, the signing of inter-institutional agreements to provide the specific medication free of charge for the patient and the operation of the treatment sessions in a new physical area, suitable for the group treatment format.
