HomeopathyAbstract
Homeopathy is a therapeutic method created by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), which applies the principle of similarity. The substance capable of provoking certain symptoms in a healthy individual, administered in diluted, infinitesimal and dynamized doses, can cure the patient suffering from similar symptoms. Homeopathy is not yet recognized as a medical specialty in Uruguay. Since 2010, the H.C.FF.AA. has the first homeopathic care unit in a public health institution. The basic concepts of this practice, the method of Clinical Homeopathy applied in our Polyclinic, the possibilities as a complementary therapy and a brief description of the international situation are discussed.
