The Revista Salud Militar is the official scientific publication of the National Health Directorate of the Armed Forces. It publishes original and unpublished papers on topics in the field of medical sciences and health in general, aimed at all health professionals.
The papers are evaluated by the Editor and Editorial Committee, then submitted to peer review, expert advisors (referees) national and international for their opinion and judgment, with DOUBLE BLIND refereeing regime, published in paper format from 1998 to 2019 and exclusively in electronic format from 2020, with a biannual frequency.
This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/deed.es, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, provided appropriate credit is given and new creations are licensed under the same terms.
The journal follows the recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing and publication of scholarly work in medical journals developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
We use Plagiarisma.net as a method of similarity detection.
The journal is indexed in Latindex, LILACS Biblat, Biur and in the Directory of Research Journals Indexing (DRJI). Evaluated by the Matrix of Information for the Analysis of Journals (MIAR). Directory Defensa digital: repositorio de publicaciones de Defensa Iberoamericanas. En La Referencia (Red de Repositorios de Acceso Abierto a la Ciencia en Lationoamérica). Registered in Biblioteca Nacional Uruguay, international ISSN, ROAD, Crossref, Research Organization Registry (ROR) and in DOi with prefix 10.35954. It is also a founding member of the Uruguayan Association of Academic Journals (AURA).

The content of all articles, opinions or statements expressed in the Journal reflect the views of the authors, are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not represent the official opinion of the Editorial Committee or the National Health Directorate, unless expressly stated.
Free of charge publication
Our journal has no charges for authors, that is, there are no costs for sending articles for evaluation, nor for processing articles, nor for subscription, nor any other type of cost.
Reception of originals open all year round.

Use of interoperability protocols: The journal uses the OAI-PMH protocol (Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) for the exchange of metadata on the Internet. OAI-PMH address: http://revistasaludmilitar.uy/ojs/index.php/Rsm/oai. The metadata used are encoded in Dublin Core.
Preservation policy:
Public PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) cares for and digitally preserves Military Health content.
In order to guarantee the preservation of its content in open access over time, the journal performs the following procedures:
1) Backups of the software (Open Journal System) and its content are periodically performed on the servers of the service contracted by the institution at http://www.dmasb.com/
2) The journal uses a DOI in each article uploaded for the unequivocal identification and location of the document.
3) Articles are deposited in pdf and html format, both widely used formats.
4) We back up the final files on external hard disk.
