Abstract

The healthcare experience of a Medical Unit, Kisangani, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is presented.
The average frequency of malaria found during the observation period was 3.48% of the population.
There were two peaks during this period, one linked mainly to the rainy season and the other to non-compliance with established prophylactic measures.
Among the prophylactic measures, the barrier methods and the importance of reiterating their correct use by the Medical Unit (MU) are emphasized.
Supervision of compliance with the indicated chemoprophylaxis is considered important.
We did not find a GS with a higher risk of contracting malaria.
The monthly statistical work by the Medical Unit is highlighted for an early diagnosis of the behavior of the most important diseases in order to search for the causes and their solutions.
