Abstract
In a world of continuous change in which information is key to decision-making in all areas, having a high-quality and relevant scientific bibliography is essential.
Particularly in the health area, being able to decide between one treatment or diagnosis or another, between the incorporation of new technology without generating an imbalance in the chain of health levels. That is why the editors of scientific publications must work more and more on their quality levels, seeking that the published works adapt to the present and align to this new global health system in which chronic diseases increase and the availability of financial resources is less every day.
We are in a delicate balance between basic and applied science, although a lot of knowledge is generated and most of it will not be applied, mainly due to lack of budget dedicated to clinical phase trials. This means that, for the choice of a molecule, equipment or device to reach a successful clinical phase, the articles in the development phase have to be of higher quality and be supported by clear and reproducible experiments. Hard times and hard times are ahead for editors.
