Abstract

In the field of dentistry, sterilization and antisepsis on inanimate and animate surfaces, respectively, are a fundamental and essential part of the daily work of all professionals in this discipline.

Many products have been used over the years to carry out these tasks and these have been improving in terms of their biocompatibility and antimicrobial efficacy.

This work consists of a review of the existing literature on several products generically called functional waters and specifically on a group of them, the super oxidized waters, which have been launched on the market in recent years and on their characteristics in general in order to provide information about them and to achieve a better approach to the subject at present.
