Amyand's hernia is rare, it is defined by the presence of the cecal appendix in the inguinal hernia sac, which can be normal or present different degrees of inflammation. It is typically diagnosed intraoperatively and surgically resolved.
The main controversy arises from its therapeutic options, in terms of treatment of the cecal appendix and parietal repair.
We present two cases of this rare entity seen in our service, both with appendicitis. Appendectomy and parietal repair with mesh were performed.
