In Uruguay, hospital pharmacy services are, by law, general clinical services that perform management, logistic and clinical functions for care, teaching and research purposes. The incorporation of new technologies, among other reasons, constitutes a challenge for health services. The liver transplant team is a clear example, being a bi-institutional unit, financed by the National Resources Fund (FNR). The present work drafts the integration of the Pharmacy Department to the multidisciplinary team, achieving a technical-administrative articulation, which contributes to the quality and safety of care as well as to the cost analysis methodology required by the FNR. The adaptation and pharmacoeconomic analysis with a level of efficiency such as to incorporate the assistance of the pharmacy in each transplant without increasing its human resources and without affecting its mission in the hospital structure.
