When my younger and still active colleagues entrusted me with the task of writing this review on Dr. Q.F. Mario Laiolo, it was for me a pleasant surprise and at the same time a challenge.
Surprise at the initiative of them and of those who gave shape to the idea of remembering in simple tributes, the professionals who passed through the different areas of the National Directorate of Health or the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces, leaving part of their lives and giving all their effort and knowledge, for the good of the Institution, of the member of the Armed Forces and their families, and of their colleagues and other professionals, with whom they share so many hours of work, knowledge and teachings.
