Abstract

The battle of Sarandí, impressive combat of cavalry, took place October 12, 1825, facing the oriental army to the command of general Juan A. Lavalleja (2000 men) and the imperial Brazilian commanded by the graduated colonel Bentos Manuel Ribeiro. That day, fateful for the Empire and of glory for the oriental ones, the emperor of Brazil, don Pedro I. was turning years old.
