Quetiapine is a drug widely used in various psychiatric treatments, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and dementia. The present work presents different formulations for the manufacture of tablets of quetiapina fumarate of immediate liberation, by means of the methods of direct compression as also by granulation by humid route; the physicochemical characteristics of the quetiapina fumarate (being this the salt usually used) as being; its solubility dependent on the pH and the properties of the powder that make it easily segregated, do of this drug a challenge at the time of achieving good formulations. The aim is to obtain robust formulations that comply with good pharmacological properties at the time of manufacture, as well as to obtain tablets with a good release of the drug.
